BPS Connected BIM revealed
Together with ECBsoft, BPS International presented the first digital Connected BIM Prototype on the BIM World Munich 2017.
Behind Connected BIM stands a network of all TGA components, their analysis and alocated mapping in a BIM model. This enables building operators to monitor building systems in real time on the basis of data obtained from the IoT. The information makes it easier to decide on different alternatives in the maintenance process. Connected BIM enables live monitoring of the technical infrastructure and systems of your buildings. With the BPS IoT platform, maintenance costs and workload can be reduced by avoiding breakdowns while at the same time increasing the efficiency of the building.
The simple installation of the sensor technology as well as the automatic transmission and evaluation of the sensor data make the system an efficient IoT platform.
The example of the prototype of a heating system quickly shows that thanks to BPS IoT technology, any number of parameters can be read in real time and conclusions can be drawn about the health of the system. The prototype incorporates commercially available industrial sensors that collect data on pressure, temperature and consumption values. In the simplest example, a possible filter contamination is simulated by closing the valve.
Thanks to real-time monitoring of TGA systems such as ventilation, heating, cooling, waste water and supply water, problems can be identified and fixed shortly. A further step towards a networked building is to integrate the obtained data into a BIM model: The TGA, equipped with sensors, is then connected to the BIM model via the cloud and allows real-time monitoring of all system data in a 3D model.
IoT and BIM thus complement each other to form a kind of early warning system in which the IoT is responsible for “reading system health". BIM assigns the data to the relevant objects such as manufacturer model, etc. This way, the normal and abnormal system status can be made visible in advance, any changes to the system can be checked automatically and failures can be avoided.
Thanks to the low-cost measurement technology, simple installation and easy operation, you can analyze your buildings or production facilities at low cost and operate them more efficiently (with the results of the measurements). With BPS Connected BIM, an unlimited number of measuring sensors can be used and the collected data can be used as desired.
